In a simple matter of a few years, TP-LINK has come from nowhere to carve itself a slice of the market. And we’re impressed.

The Archer MR200 AC750 Wireless Dual Band 4G LTE Router is quite simply an outstanding network device.

The router itself boasts impressive download speeds of up to 150Mbps, 4G network sharing and it also offers the ability to create simultaneous dual band wireless networks.

Appearance wise, the box is quite compact and is overall built up of plastic. The glossy top is the only major downside in terms of aesthetics, picking up several finger prints which can be quite challenging to remove.

How this router differs to most mainstream ones is its ability to share a 4G network.

Setup is really quite simple, simply insert your 4G enabled SIM card and after a couple of minutes you can be online and connected with several devices.

Setup is a breeze. The wizard starts off by forcing you to set a password. After entering country settings it works out your provider APN settings and lets you setup WiFi.

Once you’ve got to the main screen you can start to tweak with some of the more intricate settings.

The first thing I had a look at was the SMS page, the feature itself boasted a full SMS tool under advanced settings where you can send a new SMS and check old messages sent and received.

Another handy feature of the router is the ability to limit the amount of data you use. You can cap a monthly allowance and even set usage alerts so it triggers a warning when you hit a certain percentage.

Some other useful features:

  • IPSec VPN
  • Dynamic DNS options: DynDNS and No-IP.
  • WiFi: Usual stuff. WPA/WPA2 Personal/Enterprise, MAC filtering
  • Wireless Guest network
  • NAT, lots of options. Virtual Servers, Port triggers, DMZ
  • SNMP monitoring. Not something you often seen on this level of device
  • Basic traffic stats

Inside the box we receive some handy additions. You get the router, an ethernet cable, a power supply, some SIM card adapters which we found to be a really nice touch! And you also get the obvious documentation.

The Archer MR200 also provides impressive Wi-Fi speeds for all of your devices.

The dual-band network is capable of supporting speeds of up to 300Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and 433Mbps on the 5GHz band. This means that all of your favorite devices can get the speed that they need, on the band offering them the best performance.

The 5GHz band offers reduced interference and higher transfer speeds for compatible wireless devices, allowing you to enjoy great performance and keep the 2.4GHz band clear for the devices that need it most.

For added convenience and flexibility, the Archer MR200 also features an integrated LAN/WAN port.

This allows it to function as a standard router by accepting connections from any DSL, cable, or fiber modem via a standard Ethernet cable.

It also allows the Archer MR200 to provide secure, stable Internet access for devices that require a wired connection.
