Just when you thought the fun was about to end…

Having fun playing the Star Wars Battlefront beta? If so, you’ll be happy to know that the beta end date has been extended! Instead of ending on October 12, the Star Wars Battlefront beta end date will now be on October 13! Yep, it’s just a day, I know, but it’s better than nothing, right?

Here’s the complete blog post by Battlefront Community Manager Matt Everette:

Hope you’re enjoying the Star Wars Battlefront beta and thank you for playing – every time you log on, it’s helping us ensure the experience is going to be great at launch. As we get into the late stages of the beta, we will begin conducting further technical tests on our infrastructure.

These additional tests will start on Monday, October 12 and will run thru Tuesday, October 13th, which will add an additional day to the open Beta. These tests are to help us find some extreme scenarios, and that means some players may experience occasional issues such as being kicked from the game or losing connectivity. This is all being done in the name of shoring up our infrastructure before we launch on November 17th.

Please continue to provide your feedback around the Beta and we look forward to seeing you on the battlefront in November.

The Beta is a rousing success from most angles: it was positively received throughout the gaming media for its authentic Star Wars aesthetic, satisfying gunplay and wacky arcade-style powerups.

The Batttlefront/Battlefield games thrive on the epic, and that’s really where this beta delivered in spades. Between the massive, lumbering AT-ATs, the orchestral flourishes and the grand space battles overhead, the game toed a brilliant line between intense moment to moment action and a sense of scale.

Also, since this is was a beta, it’s important to note that the thing worked: I noticed some rubberbanding and lag while playing, but nothing major, and I never had trouble getting into fully populated matches.
